Every Magazine Debuts!

If you are familiar with this blog and follow it regularly - then you will know about 'Big Cheese'. It is a form of navigation and it helps you find your way through his blog easier. Anyways, so we do have an advertising page. With that being said - I am going to help promote a very interesting project today.

A magazine rather, a new one. Every Magazine is a magazine that is targeted towards girls and the first spoiler looks promising. I really recommend keeping up with this project - it could lead to something big:

Check out their official website here!

If YOU want your project advertised right here on the blog, click here and go from there!

Stardoll Fashion Reaches New Heights!

I was thinking earlier about this blog, where I want to take it - what I want it to become and I kind of got the idea that I don't really want this blog to control or spark any sort of controversies. With that being said...

The comment I published a few days ago regarding Stardoll Fashion Week is still valid. But, I applaud writemarycat for creating such a dynamic project. I am ready to give it a chance and kindly support it. After all, this blog is based on Stardoll fashion and everything linked to it. We must be generous and follow this venture.

We do hope that Mary will reach out to us, as well as you guys - and supply us with some exclusives! What is personal, is personal. Business is business.

I'm Poisoned!

Like literally, I was infused with some sort of fashion needle. I feel pain in my stomach and a slight case of glamorous nausea. I bow down to Poison Magazine!

Earlier today, Poison Magazine released their 'Prom 2010' issue and I gotta' say - the execution is flawless. Sure the graphics don't compete with other iconic magazines - but there comes a time, for me at least, when quality is so much more intriguing. And when I'm introduced to a magazine where correct grammar is worshiped - I die.

Not to mention that this magazine is run by ONE person; yes one person. Psychotic-Freak is that person. She creates the graphics, writes the articles - and overall, comes up with the magazine's theme. This girl deserves mad props.

Poison Magazine is unlike any other magazine because of the sole fact that they choose not to be like any other. They are not a fan of tradition and they could care less about cliches. Ah, my wish has come true!

Ashley Wilson (BeverlyHillsHei) graces the cover - stunning!

Without further ado - I think I've won you over. Most importantly though, this magazine should have. You can visit and read the rest of the magazine here - leave a comment, a kind one!

Spread the word! You know where you heard about it. ;)

Also, check out this wonderful invite below, so exciting:

Trial Post: L'Occitane Shop Review

If you've been keeping in touch with the new items in Starplaza, you would know that a new store called L'Occitane has come out (the actual store is only available to people in Sweden).

While this shop is pricey, I definitely like these colors. Just in time for winter + fall, because people tend to pack away their neon oranges and lime greens in favor for more subtle colors, such as a light pink or nude. And of course, red lipstick is always in style. It adds that pop to an outfit. The eyeshadows are incredibly easy to blend, enabling you to create the perfect shade of eyeshadow.

My favorite piece of this collection would have to be the blush. I love the way (unlike those huge Dot brushes) that you can actual apply blush where you want. The shade of this blush is also perfect, a mix of pink and red, called peony. I see many original makeup looks that include this blush.

Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Yes. Cheaper than Luxe? Yes. Should you buy? Yes.

Makeup Artist Wanted

OK, so I am planning on adding some weekly makeup tutorials to the blog. But with that idea, comes more work - I will need a little help. Actually, I am looking for someone to officially work as our makeup artist; here on Tyler's Top Trends.

I am looking for a graphics designer that can do something similar to this:

ll2ll3

Take a stab at it and submit your entries below, in the comments. The person who makes the best graphic, with, of course, wonderful grammar and advice - will be crowned a new staff member right here on this blog.

Teaser Fever - Cover Magazine!

After its' debut issue was a huge success, the folks over at Cover Magazine have decided to give it another go. This time, sexing it up a bit - dare I say?

Recherche Magazine Debuts 'Teaser'!

http://i26.tinypic.com/29nbghl.png

*Jaw drops*

Daring, fierce, creative, poised and an overall fabulous execution!

Recherche Magazine has never disappointed. I mean that in many different forms, graphics wise and issue wise. Meaning, they have never really had a long gap between releasing issues - which I like. It's a responsibility to own a magazine and they accept that.

Opinions?

Stardoll Fashion Week - Controversy?

When I heard about this project I was actually very thrilled to see that something kind of new was going on. Don't get me wrong, I still am happy about this project, but the THRILLED part has worn off. And here are my reasons as to why.

Stardoll Fashion Week is a project lead or sponsored by a notorious group called, Fashion Group - we all know them, right? To sum it up, it's a project to showcase and help upcoming fashion designers get their 'big break'. IF your line is liked, you could have the chance to have it featured in Eternity Magazine as well as a fashion show. Then the news was brought up about the winners line being feature in our very own Starplaza!

To be honest, though, I am not really keeping up with this project has much as I should for you guys - but I do have an opinion on it. A very developed and educated one. I love the whole idea of a fashion week on Stardoll, I do - I do. It's fun and fresh.

Just listen. I have a friend who is lets just say, 'known' on Stardoll. They contacted the Stardoll Staff about designing a line for the plaza itself, they agreed - practically worshiped the idea. So they did make the line and sent it over to the Stardoll Staff, but they wrote back explaining that it was in the wrong formant (no further details). They remade the line, adding a little touches here and there - sent them the line again. Years have went by and the line has never emerged in the shops here on Stardoll. Kind of confusing, but bare with me.

On Fashion Group's website, it states that they are in talks with 'Stardolls graphics designers and creative directors'. With that being said, unlike the person I was talking about (above) - who was going to have their line looked over and placed into the plaza - nothing added or reduced from by the workers over at Stardoll. Then, if you think about what I just said earlier about how the folks over at SFW are in talked with the graphics designers and what not. It seems to me like once they pick a winner and the designs are sent to the staff - they will be redesigned for the plaza. Basically, using the pieces for inspiration only.

Another thing I am worried about, is the fact that the winning designs featured at Stardoll Fashion Week will also have a chance to be featured in Eternity Magazine. That is a great opportunity for the creator and the magazine. You know what I mean, saves the work for the workers! Last time I heard, 'E' was looking for graphics designers.

I get it, to even have been inspired by a piece in the Starpaza is amazing - but what I am trying to get at is, I hope people don't spend to much time working on graphics, thinking that their exact design is going to be showcased for all to see. And then again, I could be totally wrong - I would not mind being proved wrong either.

With a project this big I can see it easily going down the drain or not even 'taken care of'. Hopefully everyone that works there receives the credit they deserve. No where is there any information listed about the workers at the group, Fashion Group - it is a group - not a single - I do not know. Hopefully I can be proved wrong. Because of course, now that all this was said - do you not think it will not be taken into consideration?

    Runway Magazine Release Spoiler!

I was actually so glad to hear that Runway Magazine was returning to the spotlight because of the sole fact that magazines are surely, and slowly dieing off. However, I guess since it is summer a lot of people are finding themselves more time to work on their projects. With that being said, the magazine industry is at war!

    http://i834.photobucket.com/albums/zz263/vasia28/theofficialspoilerendof.png

Obviously if you are reading this, you have seen Runway's new spoiler (above). For me, it is very original - I mean, have any of us actually focused on peace lately? *laughs*

The colors really do scream, "comeback". It is almost like the staff is leaving no warning - if that makes sense. I just cannot wait for this issue to be published and be able to do a proper review on it. Until then, what do you think of Runway Magazine's return?

    Source: The Icon Company

    Thanks, Coco!

The blog will be beginning soon, I am still looking for some writers, (this is totally off topic, but if you want to apply for a job here - message me). Anyways, I wanted to take the time to thank a special someone for creating our fabulous new banner.

Thank you, gurrrl! Click here to visit her page and thank her for this wonderful graphic, she really has made this blog something special - you know, giving it that extra 'spice'! :)

    Welcome!

Wow, it seems like forever since I last blogged here at Tyler's Top Trends, it really does. Since I moved to New Star City the offers for work have been thriving, one in particular came from the Stardoll Staff themselves and, well - I just could not say no. Hence the reason I have brought this site back! But of course, I cannot say anything yet, you guys will find out soon enough.

The 'all new' (if you will), Tyler's Top Trends will be very - very intertwined with Stardoll and what it stands for. This blog will not feature any gossip whatsoever, but it will include features about other Stardoll users. In fact, we are all for our readers here at TTT and we cannot wait to showcase new, unseen talents. We are going to be featuring magazine reviews, reviews of all your favorite and 'it' magazines, as well as magazines that are still trying to find a place in this little ol' world. There will be fashion tips, advice, competitions and so much more!

Please take note that here at Tyler's Top Trends we do not allow any type of bullying, this is a fun and safe zone for all Stardoll members to enjoy their time here. And for the people of Dollywood that are thinking of the fact that I was leaving, it was just Dollywood (ew), I'm in New Star City now! I cannot wait to travel into the untouched mists of Stardoll beyond the elites!
